Bringing Together Finance Professionals Across Government

The management function of the Government Finance Profession is embedded within the Finance Professionalism (FP) team at HM Treasury.  FP develops and oversees the implementation of strategies for improving management of financial resources across central government.

Ongoing initiatives include: Graduate Recruitment; Career Management of Finance Professionals; Redefining the Role of the Head of Finance Professionalism as Finance Director positions are increasingly filled by professionally qualified accountants; and developing core financial management skills for grades below G7 in light of the requirements of Professional Skills for Government (PSG).
