2008 GFP Awards and Nominations iPod Competition
It's that time of the year again! Those nice people at the Government Finance Profession are giving away an 8GB iPod Nano just for nominating yourself, or another Finance Professional, for one of their prestigious GFP Awards. To win the iPod you must also give the correct answers to two very simple questions. So what are you waiting for? Just follow the instructions below and get nominating!

- Mentor of the Year
- Innovation in Government
- Project Manager of the Year
- Sustainability Award
- Unsung Hero
- Head of Profession's Award for Lifetime Achievement
How to NominateWe've made the process very simple for you. All we want is 250 'wise words' on why you or a colleague should win a GFP Award. Email your entry form plus any relevant supporting documents to gfpawards2008@hm-treasury.gsi.gov.uk Also consider whether your nomination might qualify for more than one category but be sure to submit a separate nomination for each category.

The Rules
All those nominated must work in a central government department, agency or an arms length body. The Judges' decision is final. The nomination deadline is Friday 26 September 2008. Entries should be emailed to gfpawards2008@hm-treasury.gsi.gov.uk by the closing date.
Nominations iPod Competition
An iPod will be awarded to the first person whose name is pulled out of the hat by the GFP Awards Judging Panel [members to be announced in due course] in October. To win the iPod the individual must have self-nominated or nominated a colleague for a GFP Award and complied with the Nomination process and the Rules displayed above. They must also have given the 'correct' answers to the 'questions' below.
Question 1:
Who might you call a man with three wooden heads?
Answer:
A: Pinocchio
B: Edward Woodward
Question 2:
How might you save a drowning rodent?
Answer:
C: Make it a cheese and pickle sandwich.
D: Give it mouse to mouse resuscitation.
If you think the answer to Question 1 is Answer A please mark 1A on your entry form, if you think it is B then mark 1B etc.
