There are two entry routes into the Government Finance Profession for people not already in the Civil Service who wish to undertake a professional finance qualification: - the apprenticeship route: The Civil Service Fast Track Finance Apprenticeship route is for talented school leavers who will be 18-21 years old at the start date of September. Applications usually open in January each year. Apprentices are supported to study for a higher level apprenticeship, also known as level 4. For information on this, and to register your interest in applying go to: https://www.gov.uk/civil-service-apprenticeships. - the graduate route: The Finance Fast Stream is a talent programme for graduates who have the potential to become leaders of the Civil Service, who will be supported to gain a full finance professional qualification. The Fast Stream is consistently ranked in the top 10 of the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers. For information about the Fast Stream generally see: https://www.gov.uk/faststream and for information about the Finance Fast Stream specifically see: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/civil-service-fast-stream-commercial-and-finance/civil-service-fast-stream-finance. Applications for this scheme usually open in September each year, for a start date in the Civil Service the following September.
